This week: leaks, laughs, and a little fox idea
Hello readers!
Rain, rain everywhere. So much of it that our house has started letting it in. Honestly, has the UK ever seen this much rain? It feels relentless at the moment.

Still, we couldn’t stay indoors all weekend, so we wrapped up and headed out to our local National Trust spot. It was one of those foggy, moody days where everything looks a bit mysterious and quiet. Perfect walking weather… until you add my latest idea into the mix.
Over Christmas I got a few Amazon vouchers and I decided I wanted a little drone. Nothing fancy, just for fun. Turns out, they are so hard to control.
The first flight lasted about five seconds before it got stuck in a tree branch. I panicked, pressed a few buttons I definitely shouldn’t have, and it basically dropped straight down to its death. Thankfully it survived, and I gave it another go.
Second attempt was… slightly more successful. I started to think, “Right, I’ve got this now.” Which is exactly when I got a bit cocky and sent it on its way towards Sam, very nearly giving her an unexpected new haircut. After that I was promptly told to put it away and carry on the walk. Fair enough. 😂

A lovely custom wedding order
Back in the workshop, we’ve been working on a really lovely set of wedding keepsakes for Hannah. These were custom drawn based on a design she sent us, and after a bit of back and forth we got everything just right. They were shipped out yesterday and we’re really pleased with how they turned out.
Hannah, if you happen to get any photos from the day, we’d absolutely love to see them. And if not, no worries at all, but we’re wishing you the best wedding day.
A new idea bubbling away…
I’ve also still been drawing away, and I’ve got an idea floating around that feels very fitting for our life right now.
Having a two-year-old means we’re living in a world of big feelings. Our daughter is actually amazing at telling us she’s scared sometimes, even if she can’t quite explain why yet. And it got me thinking… is there something we could create that helps children hold onto those reassuring, loving words we say as parents?
So here’s the idea.

I’m thinking of designing companion cards featuring animals and a woodland setting. Maybe a mummy fox curled up with her cub. A short poem or quote printed on the card, with options for personalisation. Then a parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle helps pop out the pieces and assemble it into a little keepsake that can sit on a shelf.
It would be a really sweet gift, but also something that could be genuinely comforting for a child to see every day or just when they need reminding.
It’s a bit hard to explain properly in words, but that’s where my head is at. Above is a photo of the rough concept I’ve mocked up (I basically fed what was in my brain into ChatGPT just to get a visual feel for it). And theres potential for multiple themes here ones designed for girls and boys too, rocket themed etc.
What do you think? Good idea or nah?
I’d genuinely love your feedback, so drop a comment and let me know your thoughts.
